  1. An awe inspiring story.
    I remember seeing this on TV when I was in my teens.
    However in fairness I had to really pay close attention to what Mr. Reid was saying because of
    his exceptionally thick Scot’s accent!

  2. Thank you for all your posts, sir. Every single one is humbling. Especially this latest one of William Reid VC. I have seen this on “World At War” many times yet it still leaves me so in awe of William Reid’s humility and so proud of that generation, and sad of how so few today even bother to remember.

    I was honoured to have known an Auxiliary Unit Patrol Leader and later Group Leader who was exactly that same humble and gentle character as Bill Reid. Wonderful men !
